Dove and Whitelaw Libraries

The Dove and Whitelaw Libraries are adjoining non-fiction libraries. All items are catalogued using the Dewey Decimal system and cover a massive range of topics. They are also used as study spaces by senior pupils. Dove Library is named after our founder and a portrait of Dame Frances, painted by Sir William Richmond, hangs there. Whitelaw Library is named after the second Headmistress of the School, Miss Whitelaw. These spaces are designed to evoke a scholarly atmosphere and are symbolic of the school’s wish for pupils to engage in academic enrichment. Our Librarian, Ms Myers, is based in Dove Library and she is always on hand to assist pupils with book recommendations and to help them find resources for their studies. In addition to the books held in this space, we also have a range of online subscriptions, including academic journals, subject-specific magazines and study guides, to ensure that our pupils have access to the best and latest resources.
