Cloister House

Cloister is one of the original Houses which was first based in the main Abbey. It was first given the name ‘Green’ and later was named after the Green House Study which opened upon the Gothic cloister erected by James Wyatt; who the Carrington’s engaged with to redesign the house in the 19th century. The House is now situated in Daws Hill where it moved to in 1932 joining Shelburne and Wendover. Daws Hill house was built in the 18th century as a hunting lodge and home to the Carrington family when they sold the main Abbey to Miss Dove in 1896. Cloister is the smallest House in the School which means it has a very close family feel to it. Girls are in mixed aged dorms from 12 to 16 year’s old with the oldest pupils having their own study bedroom when they are in Lower Sixth.
